You can also use non-adhesive bondage tape, I'd try the PTFE first though Some people find the PTFE too drying and/or too fiddly.
these make me cool rite guys??

Hmm, I keep getting the message: "remove links and images..." - maybe It'll get through this time...

    Hello everybody!

    Next stretch, I'll reach my (4th) goal size - 1/2" (12.7mm)

I might go bigger since I think my lobe can take it without
    being significantly distorted...

My question is: at what gauge will jewellery become notably scarcer?

lovely stuff after that too. Depends what you're after really.

It's a dilemma; plugs are so tiny and show such small/scarce
pattern in 1/2" - but, spirals and horseshoes get very large in
diameter and weight :( ...wood is lighter though, but still has
quite a large diameter. For tunnels, 1/2" is quite sufficient to
    show off the size...

Being quite a skilled knife-maker I have the knowledge of wood-
working and polishing, so I made a very beautiful Desert Ironwood
Tri-spiral in 1/2" with a smaller outer diameter

    Thanks for your opinions!

i did it, there was no resistance or tearing, if there was resistance i would only do one wrap. My ears are healthy and not swollen and i don't have any blow outs.

You're very very lucky then. Do you really want to take those kinds of risks with your ears? By the way, blowouts can happen without resistance, pain, swelling or tearing.

Personally there's no way I'd be doing a 2mm jump in 4 days. I'm taking it so incredibly slowly that it's taken me nearly 6 months to get to 2mm, but maybe that's just me?

I wouldn't be recommending stretching at this speed, with any "god tape", to anyone reading this.
