Old psych studies are usually really interesting but sometimes I feel bad for the subjects.. I wonder what emotional stress it put on the monkeys involved?

There were additional studies with many of the same subjects who were re-introduced to social groups who were able to function normally. As explained in that link the monkeys were separated initially for health concerns. This study was also beneficial in the long run as it sort of sparked reform in how animals are treated in research.
I purposefully didn't place that tattoo on a public space on my body for those reasons though, that it can be a very triggering topic in those regards. It is unfortunate when any sentient being is placed somewhere without autonomy.
I personally don't think all tattoos need to have meaning, but this particular piece is meaningful for me in regards to my relationship with my own mother/attachment styles etc, regardless of some of the darker history surrounding it.

I just meant more that you can't ask a monkey how they feel >_<
There's a lot of studies I've read (though undoubtedly they're a minuscule proportion) that although they caused the participants no harm would never be approved today as they'd be seen as really unethical.
I find psych really interesting but I've not properly studied anything to do with it since I left school, hopefully that'll be changing soon though!

Sorry didn't even think about it since I live in Toronto and everyone on this site is from the UK! haha. My skull piece is done by Lemur ( www.7-8tattoo.com/ ) and by monkey was by Seunghyun Jo (https://www.facebook.com/seunghyunjo...ref=ts&fref=ts)

Ooh, mine. It's a wip, I'm getting a peacock in a sketchy, rough style added to it to go down my arm. Splashes of color (watercolor style) will be added when we're done.
