    Default New Daith Piercing Advice

So got this done yesterday, it was barbaric and super painful. The piercer bearing down on me and stopping half way through because she couldn't get it all the way through... Was the worst piercing I've had by far and I've had a lot! and it bled a crazy amount like poured in my ear.

So basically the picture I took into the piercer the hoop laid flat? I think that's the best way to describe it so as you look straight on at the ear you see the hoop... (see link - google.com/url?sa=i&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjxzJTjoJLmAh URlhQKHbJQABMQjRx6BAgBEAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wi ldtattooart.com%2Fdaith-piercing&psig=AOvVaw1JyWAkBkoXvhpxo56lza2_&ust=157 5214286912347)
Where as mine looks vertical and completely not what I had in mind, I was assured by the piercer and the other member of staff that once healed it will lay nice and flat but I'm not sure. Usually when I have a piercing the placement stays as is, like I had a septum crooked and healed and I had to have it redone... So I am very sceptical has anyone else had this piercing and did it look like mine initially?

Any advice, also i appreciate honesty but please dont be too brutal =)

The process sounds very worrying. We can't tell much from one photo, you'll need to go and see an excellent piercer who can look/feel from all angles and get some light in there, clean it up and figure out what's gone on. They can stick out initially but I'm more concerned by the bleeding an incompetence of the person you saw.

Are you in the US/UK? If so, I'd suggest finding your nearest APP/UKAPP registered piercer ASAP.

I agree with Boo. This is not good with the problems you have had (sorry, to hear it). I wouldn't ever go back to whoever pierced you. You need someone else's opinion. I have had both of my Daith's both done very badly by one piercer and one piercing and a couple changed by another that just left me with blood everywhere. The piercer I have now we have taken ages to find and I would not go to anyone else. If my piercer finds any problem or something that needs cleaning she will not leave it.

Boo - please could you let me know if this is bad advice or not? Would you suggest to blessthegoomy that they should get some rock salt 1/4 tea spoon (dissolved in boiling hot kettle water) in a cereal bowl? Allow the water to cool right down (not hot as may start to bleed again). And soak for as long as you can - preferred for 10 minutes but, I can only do about 5 minutes myself. Just to get the blood off while waiting to see a better piercer? Also shower rinsing?

Dunking in a bowl/cuip is fine, I've done it myself. Or they can use a damp, warm compress of hot water. Salt not really needed at this point.
