This. I'd love to get some professional shots that make me look a million dollars.

Not sure I'm brave enough to be an artists model though!

I dunno about looking like a million dollars, most of mine were porn/fetish work lol

I have been turned into a mermaid before though in a photoshoot from a lady who does boudoir stuff, she's brilliant, I really rate her

Hey yv Im reading and learning about life drawing and how it goes. From what I gather life drawings tend to focus on the whole body, how the anatomy fits together and so on. They seem less interested in details such as faces, fingers etc and so I doubt piercings would be picked out. But you never know, and I dont know how far or close I will be to the artists or what they will pick up on.

    Well I did it!

I arrived early on Monday afternoon at the arts centre and was shown to the studio where the group took place, followed by pointing me towards a changing room which was quite nice. Once back in the studio wearing my bathrobe, I scanned all the artists to see if I recognised anyone. Thankfully nobody familiar but I had decided, if there was anyone, to go over and greet them.

As it was my first time, I was allowed to choose my own poses for the first part. This was a series of quick poses, 2 or 3 minutes, to enable to artists to get settled. Lots of scribbling and no time for painting. I decided beforehand to make my opening pose to stand there facing them, just to get it over with as this was not a time for being bashful. I stretched my arms behind my back and stood there staring at some pictures on the wall behind them as it is bad form to stare at the artists, apparently it is unsettling for them.

Next were two 20 minute poses, one standing and one sloutched. This time there was some music playing in the background which was nice. I was surprisingly hot, guess it was the heat was from a nearby spot light.

After a tea break the long pose... had to stay still for 40 minutes before another break. I was lying on the floor but I had the benefit of a duvet to have under me. Everyone could see everything! The artists were in a circle around me, looking down on me. I found it quite easy to deal with the time, allowing my thoughts to drift off to all kinds of places.

There was the need to have a little wriggle in that long pose as it was getting stiff on the hard floor but I don’t think anyone noticed. I think the tutor may have then thought I needed a break, so she made me a coffee. Just before I stood up, the tutor put some tape down so I could get back into the same position for a further 10 minutes (it was an outline of my body and looked like a crime scene!).

Afterwards I saw some of their work as the serious artists stayed behind while some others left. It was quite fascinating and they were really good. As I had thought, they were drawing and painting a general overview, not going into little details such as piercings.

Im so pleased I was asked. I’m such an ordinary conventional person and in the past I have been very self conscious, especially about my piercings. So this was jumping in the deep end. I found it to be a hugely rewarding, being suddenly free and an empowering thing to do, plus I even got paid - hooray :o)
