    Unhappy Belly button piercing problem

    hello everyone!

I got my belly button pierced about two months ago with a shorter bar due to my anatomy. Thoughout the two months the bottom hole healed beautifully however the top is pink and constantly irritated. It gets dry easily and oozes sometimes a whitish pale yellow liquid that crusts yellowish. The soreness went away for a bit and right now its super sore to touch and sometimes i can feel the soreness when i sit. I have mostly been cleaning with saline solution. In the beginning i used h2ocean but it wasnt really doing anything to help the redness/pink under the top ball. Im mostly concerned about the soreness i currently have and the oozing as it has been two months. The bottom hole looks perfect and there is no “spread out” redness, is there anyway this sounds like its an infection? Im supposed to be going to mexico in a few days and dont want to worry about infection when im away ... maybe im overcleaning it? Also the skin seems to be abit puffy under the top ball too along with the fact that its pink but also looks fleshy when wet

Sounds more likely to be irritation to me and typical of navel piercings which can take 6-12months or longer to heal. Mine is 13wks old and still has a little inflammation around the top hole. Hopefully you have excellent quality titanium jewellery in there??
It is a little concerning that a shorter bar has been used as it may not have been pierced deep enough. Get down to an APP registered piercer and let them assess it and advise before you go to Mexico.
I would try just rinsing it in the shower with clean water to clean it and give the saline a break.
A picture might help us see a little clearer what the problem may be.

Sounds like it may have developed a small granuloma, try and keep it as dry as you can. The oozing is normal, it's what your body produces when it's trying to heal something. As mentioned above you're in the very early stages of healing. Leave it alone and let your body heal it.

Good to hear you've been seeing a good piercer. If they're not concerned then it should clear up in time. Don't over clean it and dry it using absorbent clean paper towel. As Boo said above... Dry it out and leave it alone.
See if this starts to settle it down. Unfortunately patience is required with this piercing.
