Default Bruised & swollen ear piercing

Two days ago I impulsively pierced my ear with a safety pin which I had run through an open flame beforehand and yes, I know it doesn't sterilize the needle enough.
It didn't bleed, but now my ear is bruised and swollen.
I did try to pierce that area like 3 times before getting it 100% right so that could be a reason. I mean, I remember being hospitalized and being poked with a needle a few times in the same area and it got bruised and swollen.
Please don't question me or lecture me. I am aware I messed up and I have to face the consequences. I just want to know if it's bad and what I should do.

No lecture.... You'd be surprised how many people I know who have DIY'd piercings. I would advise not to do it this way again though .
Get yourself straight down to a good piercing studio and let them take a look and advise. Your ear does not need cheap steel in it like the pin you currently have in there as you can easily have an allergic reaction to it. Best to have a highly polished implant grade titanium piece fitted.
If they advise to remove it then I would listen to them.
    Good luck

Personally, I'd remove it immediately and let it heal up then go and get it pierced professionally.

Any sign of infection then go and seek medical help

    This.

Or take it out and see a medical professional. Also check you're up to date with your tetanus vaccine or get one if you're due.
