    Default Dry piercing

    For my moms birthday last month i got her double spiral piercing. The skin around the piercing sites are just so dry. Its not crust or flakey but just generally dry skin. She had it pierced on October 9th and just wondering if there is anything we can put on it to help with the dryness
    She is cleaning with either just tap water or wound wash daily to clean it. I can post picture of anyone wants to see it.
    Left ear: 4 Lobe piercings, 2 Cartilage, Conch, Double Forward Helix, Antitragus and Vertical Industrial
    Right ear: 3 Lobe piercings, Auricle, Helix, Conch x2 and Forward helix
    Facial: Left nostril, Right nostril Septum, Vertical labret and Philtrum
    Want: 4th Lobe, 2nd Foreward Helix, Tragus and Anti-Tragus
    Retired: Naval x2, Right Nostril, Anti-Tragus, and multiple lobe/Auricle piercings
    Tattoos: None but I want some.

    Emu oil can help
    Piercings: 6 lobes, 2 12mm stretched lobes, 4 helices, 3 tragus, daith, 2 nostril, 2.4mm VCH, 2.4mm daith

    Stop using the wound wash bet that’s what’s drying it out.

    I use wound wash on my fresh piercings and it hasn't dried any of my piercings out. Its actually what my piercer recommend for wound cleaning.
    Left ear: 4 Lobe piercings, 2 Cartilage, Conch, Double Forward Helix, Antitragus and Vertical Industrial
    Right ear: 3 Lobe piercings, Auricle, Helix, Conch x2 and Forward helix
    Facial: Left nostril, Right nostril Septum, Vertical labret and Philtrum
    Want: 4th Lobe, 2nd Foreward Helix, Tragus and Anti-Tragus
    Retired: Naval x2, Right Nostril, Anti-Tragus, and multiple lobe/Auricle piercings
    Tattoos: None but I want some.

    What works for one won’t work for another, everyone’s skin is different. Obviously something is drying it out.

    Guess it would depend on the wound wash, there are several kinds, some aren't to be used on a frequent/regular basis, some are just saline with a fancy name. Yet some may find using saline even dries out their skin. It's why I don't bother with anything other than warm rinses in the shower, that and I'm lazy lol.

    Did she get some oil for it? If she prefers non-animal based stuff then vitamin E could be ok as long as the area isn't really irritated still. Just gotta try what works for her. ^_^
