Default Tips on at-home lip piercing and what size needle to get for 16 gauge piercing

Yes, I know it's not the safest to do an at-home piercing and nearly everyone would recommend I get it done by a professional. I can't afford that and I'm a risk-taker and I'm aware of the potential negative outcome and it's nothing I'm not ready for, so I'm doing it anyway. I was wondering if anyone has any tips for safer or more painless and overall better piercings at home. Also, if I have a 16 gauge piercing, do I use a 16 gauge needle or should I go for something bigger? Thanks!

It sounds like you don't know what you're doing. All I can say is make sure you get tested for any disease related to blood borne pathogens afterwards.

    What Hazel said.
The best tip is not doing it at home.

A bit late to this discussion but What Hazel Said.

If you don't already have the knowledge then you shouldn't be doing it yourself.
