Default Piercing Retirement/ Is it odd to fall out of love with your piercing?

I’m tempted to take my tragus out for various reasons, it’s painful, looks odd on my ear now & I’ve fallen out of love with it.
    I have a few questions.
    1. Will I have to still keep cleaning it when i’ve taken it out? (because of the swelling).
    2. Any chance I could get an unwanted infection?
    3. Will it leave a mark when the jewellery is removed?

    Thanks

Number 3 is a lottery. Ive had piercings scar, some not scar, and there's no correlation with how long I've had them before retiring or anything significant, it's just that some left marks for a little while, some have scarred permanently and some haven't left even a trace that they used to be there

When I've taken a piercing out I've never cleaned it after. I don't think you can get an infection unless it's already infected. And yes it's possible to fall out of love with piercings. That's why piercings are so great. You can take them out whenever and they might or might not scar.

Is it common for tragus piercings to scar? Mine has a little hole but nothing too major?
