    Default Medusa piercings questions

    Hi everyone.
I have been toying with the idea of a medusa piercing for quite a few months now. Maybe longer.
I'm wondering for the people who have had it done. Does it annoy you? The inside/back of the labret bar? Against gums/teeth. Just in general? This is the only thing stopping me getting it done. Does it clank against your teeth or anything.

Any info would be most helpful. Thank you

I just got mine pierced a little over a week ago. Mine does catch on my gums everyone in a while but not enough to annoy me. If i take a big bite of food it will catch on my teeth. It seems like just the anatomy of my inner upper lip basically keeps the flat part off my gums and teeth. But i absolutely love my piercing!!!

Mine caught a little just before it needed downsizing, other than that I didn't notice it. A good piercer will be able to place it so it won't be uncomfortable.

I got mine done fairly recently (3 weeks at the time of posting) and yeah, like others say, it does clank against your gum and teeth area with the starter one, (I actually had to get a longer bar because my lip swelled up more than my piercer estimated) but after three weeks, the swelling went down completely and I have the 'standard' length Labret stud in and I have no problem now. Only time the back of the stud annoys me is when I'm taking a large bite out of something.

And this is from my experience, but if you suspect that your skin is growing over your stud back, go to your piercer as soon as possible. It's better to be safe than sorry.

PS - if you want it, and have been considering it for a while, get it. I'd been considering medusa for almost a year before I got mine, and it's worth it.

My medusa/philtrum sits off my gum, it was the most comfortable lip piercing I've had, my lower lip ones got caught in my teeth when i chewed especially when i first got them and had the longer bars.

Well I have my smiley and my medusa done and it used not be annoying until one day my medusa got stuck on my tooth and then complications happened but I'm so used to the feeling it doesn't bother me at all.. You'll be fine and you'll feel weird without it if you take it out, you'll adjust

When I had my philtrum pierced it took maybe a few days to get used to. When I retired it some time later, it felt weird to not have it in. But I eventually got used to that too. Any piercing that moves around and touches things is gonna take some getting used to.
