Thread: Anodized Titanium Fading

    Default Anodized Titanium Fading

So, I know the anodized color can were off over time, but is it normal for 2 pieces of the same jewelry in symmetrical locations to fade at different rates?

I got my nipples pieced about 3 weeks ago and they anodized my barbells purple for free. Within the first week the one on my left was almost completely silver again while the right one was still purple. I wore a sports bra all the time and only took it off to shower and I didn't touch them or mess with them. The colors haven't changed since then. I was just curious if it was normal for them to fade at different rates or if the left one just wasn't anodized right or long enough. I'm not really worried about just curious.

It's possible, just depends on the jewellery and anodization. 3 weeks seems really fast for fading from what I know, I may be wrong though!!

I feel like maybe one wasn't done properly because the other one is still perfect but I have never had anodized piercing before. Like maybe it wasn't allowed to sit long enough or something? Thank you for your reply though! I thought it seemed pretty fast for one to fading.
