Thread: VCH and exercise

    Default VCH and exercise

Just a quick query, if I get a VCH, how long do I have to leave it before I exercise? I've been wanting to get this piercing for a while now but I'm a dance teacher and I'm a little concerned I won't be able to dance for a while after getting pierced.

In a routine I've been set recently, I do have a high kick and a very quick half split. Will a piercing cause any issues? I can always wait until after my most recent performance in the first week of December but something always seems to crop up so I'd prefer to get it done this week.

I know my mileage may vary but I wouldn't mind getting opinions from ladies who've had it done. Did you wait a period of time before exercising or did you get straight back to it?

I found exercise pretty uncomfortable for the first week (I do gymnastics, so that's sort of similar to dancing). After that I was fine.

Thank you both. I went in to see my piercer yesterday and I wasn't happy with the jewellery choices she had in so she's going to order in a piece from Industrial Strength for me. It'll take four weeks which will be after my show so problem solved.

Now all I've got to do is decide on what end I want. I'm thinking a white opal would be nice but still unsure. She's emailing me with choices later, can't wait!

Oooh white opals are so pretty! I got mine done with a green opal. Two years later and I still haven't changed it haha

Opals look fab. Mine is a straight barbell with a pink sapphire. It wasn't cheap (about 200 I think) but I love it.

I was fine with exercise after about a fortnight. I did make sure I wore cotton undies for probably a month but after that I carried on as normal - I do tend to be fairly cautious with new piercings too so I'm sure you will be fine.

I love my VCH jewellery, it's an Anatometal 2.4mm curved barbell, titanium anodised yellow with 6mm balls and light blue opals

Miss Fi where did you get your jewellery from? Or what make is it?

I am a distance runner and was running again the day after I got my VCH. No gymnastic type moves but it hasn't bothered me at all - granted I had it done only 5 days ago so I'm new to the whole VCH world...

    Yours sounds really fab Hazel.

I got mine from BMG. I've bought other stuff from them, starting with nose studs a few years ago. Richard is always helpful.

    Have you bought from them?

I think I'm going for a IS curved barbell in light lavender. So pretty! I wish I hadn't discovered this forum, I'm going to be broke with all the jewellery and piercings I've found on here. But the info I've gained is fantastic so thank you lovely ladies. And all your jewellery sounds gorgeous!

I'm so lucky my piercer is a jewellery nerd (her words). She's putting in an IS order and an Anatometal order because I want a cluster hoop for my planned daith piercing. She's awesome.

Just can't wait for my VCH now. Does anyone have any advice on body hair? Did you wax/shave? I dislike being completely hair free downstairs but is it best to just get rid of the lot? (Sorry I know it's a personal question but I want to make sure I'm comfortable but allow my piercer to do the best job possible.)
