    Default Christmas

I know it's only the beginning of October lol, and I'm looking forward to Halloween beforehand but I just love Christmas. I can't wait for us to go to Birmingham and see what Christmassy gifts, etc, there are there.

Our decks now go up at the beginning of November. They take hours to put up and I like to have them up for as long as possible as it flies by. Yes, some may call me weird..but I am, so, it I just like to prove it

Does everyone else enjoy the festive season? I know some people aren't bothered about it but I love it

    Katie will love you.

I can't really be doing with Christmas, I put up some decs and buy gifts for my son and that's about it. I'm not religious and the commercialism and money surrounding it annoys me no end. That said, I don't begrudge anyone enjoying it especially if they're religious.

I struggle horribly in Winter generally so I don't think that helps much.

I'm the other way around to you Hazel. I can't cope with heat of any kind and I even sleep with an oscillating fan on every night of the year so the cold suits me, so to speak.

I agree with the commercialism. Our two oldest boys are 27 and 24 so it's mostly clothes and money now. Our youngest likes to add to his hoover collection lol and he normally picks one of the dearer ones. It's a lot of effort, etc, for a few days and I feel down afterwards as all the hype and festivities stop. While growing up, we got presents but there was a family unity there without fail. We do keep this up and it's one thing I love to do. Unfortunately though, it's becoming all about money and more expensive presents and gifts than it is anything else so being with the family makes it feel better. I like my old type of decks but I add to them every year with modern too. It's like a small Santa's grotto here, I miss the warm glow of the lights when they go away

It's not so much the cold, more the darkness, the damp, ice etc, it makes me miserable on top of existing problems. (I'm a bundle of joy right?)

No family unity as such here, hasn't been for many years especially since my dad died. It's nice to have a lovely meal with my 2 guys though and my son obviously likes the presents and stuff.

I think in future I'd love to go on holiday at Christmas but my sons dad may not be happy with that, maybe when he's older.

I don't even pretend to enjoy it haha! I'm sick of the same argument every single year:

"What do you want for Christmas?"
    "Nothing."
"I've got to get you SOMETHING."
    "No, you don't, I really don't want/need anything."
"But I can't get you nothing!"
    "Yes you can!" Etc, etc...!

Everybody takes it so seriously, I just can't understand it. Also slightly tainted with the fact that my entire family has been having WW3 for the last 6 years or so, we lost our cat on Christmas day in 2009 and work is always crazy right up until the day before so I'm just never in the mood/too knackered to enjoy anything.

I'm such a picture of happiness!

    You know me so well!

I love Christmas, I love the present wrapping and the twinkly lights and the tree and the dark nights and the Christmas markets and all the tasty food and mulled wine, eeeeeeeep

I'm not quite so keen on the 50 hour working weeks in the run up and the pandemonium that is Lush in December. My joint pain can really flare up in the winter so it's nice to take my mind off of it a bit with Christmas!

I think this year I can get excited about Christmas as I am off from 21st December until 27th December which I was super shocked to get approved cos I work in retail and it can get crazy in December! So I don't have to worry about trying to meet people in between work to exchange presents and I can actually enjoy the build up to Christmas! I haven't decided yet where I am spending Christmas as it depends on whether my boyfriend is off on Christmas Day as he works as support worker and does sleepovers so got to wait and see!

I already have started my Christmas shopping! just building it up over 2 months so it is all done on budgets .

    We can be grumpy together

When people want to send me a card (other than family or close friends) I tell them to donate to charity with me in mind. Not many listen.

I'll be working as well, so many people have time off that it's a good time for me to grab what I can.

I'm not really into Christmas much now. When my kids were young it was awesome, but now it's just bah humbug from me lol old and grumpy. It doesn't help that I now live in Australia and it's often in the high 30s Celsius. It's even made it over 40 on New Years a couple of times since we've been here. Hot Christmases are just weird.
    2g lobes, 18g forward helix (L), 14g Conch (L), 16g Double helix (L) 14g Daith (R), and 18g right nostril. 16g Septum.

    Retired: Gunned 20g lobes many years ago, 16g Tragus, 18g third (L), 18g Forward helix (bottom of double)(L) 14g Philtrum x 2, 18g second (L).

I am not looking forward to a hot Christmas! Will be my first away from home and I'm 10hours away on the other side of the world. My Christmas will be finishing just as theirs starts :(
