Default Is there a trick to get a fixed ball ring in or..?

Yeah, long story short, bought a fixed ball ring for my nose (cause CBRs are inhumane to get in!) and i twisted it easily, put it in and then.. it took 30 minutes to untwist and another half an hour to try to completely close - which I never managed, so now I have at least 2/3mm between the ball and the end of the ring, which is very uncomfortable and anaesthetic.

Soooo, is there a trick to get it closed? My former fixed ring was a peach to twist, untwist and close (changed to a new one to change te color) and this one is just too stiff and my nose is already looking like Rudolph.

I search the web and I didn't really find anything useful.
The ring is surgical steel, if that matters.

    Thank a bunch!
