If so, how long after surgery should you wait?
Also can you use numbing cream while getting them pierced? Does it work?
It depends on the surgery but yes it's entirely possible.
Numbing doesn't work for piercings unless you inject it which kinda defeats the point.

Saying this, does that mean that hypothetically, a person who experienced no pain when having a nipple pierced with freeze spray will experience no pain when it's pierced without the spray?

Freeze spray does not numb down that far, if they didn't feel it then it's a psychological placebo risked at the sake of chemical burns.

It was me, I didn't know any better at the time. It's encouraging for me though - because some people say they are some of the MOST painful piercings, and I am getting mine done again. Maybe they just don't hurt with me or something.

If it helps, I thankfully didn't have chemical burns from it.

I didn't feel my nip at all, I even had to ask the piercer if she'd finished! Vertical nip was a bit pinchy but that was probably because it went behind the other so it was deeper, but nothing unbearable by any means.

My piercer told me he used freeze spray but it turned out he only told me that for the placebo and never actually put it on. But it's really one of the least painful piercings

And I had my nipples pierced before a breast reduction and they survived. Can't attest to getting afterwards but before is just fine. I think my surgeon said 3-6 months before adding more metal in my case. Just keep in mind 1) you may lose sensation there and 2) the nipple is inevitably moved

Current: 4x lobes, left industrial, right helix, right nostril, left conch, 2x diagonal(ish) nipples, right daith, left surface tragus

    Tats: 3 hours, 2 pieces
