    Default Tongue piercing help?

    Hi all,

I had my tongue pierced on 09 July last year - so 8 months ago. I had a really shitty initial healing period and couldn't have the bar changed down for 4 weeks. My issue is that my tongue is still swollen: I can see my teeth marks in it every day. Also, the bottom ball embeds in the bottom of my tongue all the time - I have to push it out all day. And in the mornings, I have to use my fingers to push it out - and it's sore!

So, do I give up and take out the piercing? And if not, what do I do to help it heal?

    Thanks :-)

    What material is the bar?
Does it seem too long or too short?

It's surgical grade titanium. The bar is definitely not too long and I don't think it's too short either - when it's not embedding it's totally comfortable. Just when my mouth's relaxed it scoots back up inside my under-tongue (if that makes sense) and it's sore to push it out again.

Maybe try upsizing the ball and see if that helps the embedding problem?

Could possibly be a placement issue. I'd get another piercer to have a look at it.

Thanks guys - I'll give changing the ball a go and then see another piercer if I still have problems. Appreciate your help :-)
