    Exclamation forward helix bump

i've had my forward helix pierced for 2 months and i got a bump last week. Last week it looked worse but that stopped after a bunch of SSS (It looked like hypergranulation but I'm not sure). Anyways I do 2 SSS a day and I feel like it isn't getting better. Also there wasn't really a bump in the front this morning but there is now :/ and it looks a bit more swollen than this morning too. I went to my piercer and he said it's fine but I'm just super paranoid please help :( i love this piercing and i don't want to take it out

    Then don't take it out

Bumps are very common and ear cartilage piercings can take a good 9-12 months to settle down. Patience is what's needed here.

Thanks Hazel!! Just one more thing: I'm finding that whenever I soak or rinse it the bump gets a bit bigger and swollen I'm guessing because of the hot water but I'm not sure so I just wanted to make sure thats normal. The bump seems to get smaller when I wakeup and looks fine but then it just gets bigger again once I soak/rinse it.

Definitely was smaller and not as red and swollen before I showered. I'll see if i can get a picture of it tomorrow

It can happen, maybe ditch the soaks and leave it be.

I've had some problems with my piercing and I really don't know what to do. I feel like I've tried everything. I've tried sea salt soaks, chamomile tea soaks, etc. I really don't know what else to do other than maybe getting my nose re-pierced (which I don't want to do).
I have this bump on the side of my piercing. It have been there for 1-2 weeks or more maybe?? It won't go away! I had a small bump on the other side too but it went away and is now completely healed.
Can someone just PLEASE help me? I'm desperate.
Also, I've had my piercing for 1 month and 18 days.

    How was it pierced? (gun/needle)
What jewellery do you have in there?
What is the jewellery made from?
Has the piercing suffered any trauma? (jewellery changes, harsh chemicals etc)
Have you tried just leaving it alone?

My piercing is a round one with one ball. Not sure what that one is called. I got it pierced with a needle and I'm pretty sure it's made out of surgical steel as I pierced it in a professional piercing studio. Also, my piercing jewelry is thicker than normal because my friend also got her septum pierced and her piercing jewlery is thinner. I haven't changed my piercing yet.
I haven't tried just leaving it alone. Do you mean as in not cleaning it at all?

Many people are allergic to the nickle content in surgical steel so you may want to try changing it for implant grade titanium. Try just rinsing it in the shower daily and letting it do it's thing.

I have had my nose pierced 3 months but have had a bump for 2 of them. I went straight to my piercer as soon as I noticed it and he said it was hypergranulation from moisture and just said to dry it twice a day as well as clean it with a saline solution. But it just doesn't seem to be getting any better and I'm getting frustrated with it. Is there anything different you would suggest doing?
