    Default My first tattoo

After posting countless questions and inquiries in this forum regarding tattoos, it's about time I got it!

It hurt. A lot. I would be a liar if I even tried to sugarcoat it. The line work wasn't too unbearable but it was the shading that had me screaming expletives and crying like a baby. :P However, I like the shading (particularly in the ribbons) so I think it was worth the pain.

Some lines are wonky, yes. The ones I notice particularly are the jawline of the tragedy mask, as well as the crosshatching. I'm going to blame no one but myself for that one. I kept having extremely bad muscle spasms that I couldn't control. :( I'm thankful that my artist had a steady hand and the lines didn't come out as shaky as they could have. He has offered to touch up and fix the funny lines for free, as well as add some things (more shading on the masks, in the crosshatching, etc) because he feels it's unfinished (but he didn't want to put me through more agony haha).

I'm generally pretty happy with it. I wish I ditched the idea of the crosshatching because it didn't come out too well but I didn't so there's no use in moping around about it.

Honestly, I didn't even notice any wonky lines until I re-read through your post and stared really close at the picture! I actually really like it, it's definitely a piece you could add to if you wanted to.

Hope it heals well for you! x

I'm a performer and I specialize in live theatre. I hope to eventually make it to Broadway - big dreams - and live theatre is such a huge part of my life. The masks are very symbolic of that.

Healing has been fairly uneventful so far. It's started to get itchy, which I wasn't expecting until later, but all is well. I've felt no pain since getting the actual tattoo, which I'm very thankful for because I've heard horror stories of people with feet tattoos limping for the first week at least due to pain xD

It looks great! I personally agree with your artist that it could use a bit more shading but it's a beautiful, original
piece! Four days is usually when I get itchy and peely. I peel for three days and then I'm itchy for another two and then overnight it just finished up and it's like it never happened! Good
    luck avoiding the scratching!

Current: 4x lobes, left industrial, right helix, right nostril, left conch, 2x diagonal(ish) nipples, right daith, left surface tragus

    Tats: 3 hours, 2 pieces
