    Default Tongue Web

    Hey everyone!!
I hope everyone is doing well.
I also hope everyone has a great summer this year!
    Stay safe

Anyways, I have a question regarding the tongue web.
So I have a dentist appointment this weekend and I am not sure whats gonna happen during my appointment.
I decided that I am going to take out my tongue web piercing either the night before or on the day of my appointment.

My question is if there is a chance it will close?
I got my piercing last year, so it is about 9 to 10 months now since I have gotten it.

    So yea..
    Sorry if its a silly question n.n;
I just don't want to risk the chance of losing my piercing is all.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and reply.

I would phone the dentist and ask if it needs to be taken out? No point upsetting a piercing for no reason.

    Yeah, this.
Dentists are concerned with your teeth, gums, and general mouth condition/hygiene. If you have a nice clean happy healthy piercing that doesn't affect your teeth or gums, they should be fine with that.

My dentist didn't like my venoms because they touched my teeth (which was part of the reason I retired them) but she approves of my 5mm glass tonguebar and the fact that I clean it with my electric toothbrush
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

    Both lobes 1/2", 5mm, 1.6mm
Left rook & 5mm helix punch
Right helix x2 & forward helix
    VCH, 5mm tongue

this. I went to the dentist, and got told I needed a filling and went back and had said filling. He never even mentioned my tongue web and I didn't take it out for the filling either. I also had an x-ray and I didn't have to take anything out for that either.
You sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.

I actually did ask them when I was making my appointment, all they told me it depends on my doctor.

But thank you everyone for replying to my post ^ ^
You guys really helped out on making up my mind.

I think I have finally decided on what to do for this situation.

If you're not allowed to have in it then maybe you could wear a bioplast retainer

Bit of a late response but I know this dilemma really well, my orthodontist was really nasty about my tongue web but she did not make me take it out, nor did she ever say it was causing a real problem other than some stupid idea that it would stop my braces from moving my teeth. Now having straight teeth, and a bar cemented to the back I have removed my tongue web but you should be ok with the dentist in future
