Question Nose Piercing Aftercare + Castor Oil?

    Hello!

So I'm thinking of getting a nose piercing. I've gotten many piercings before, and I used sea salt solution as a healing aid and it worked amazing.
Being the paranoid me, I did some basic "before you get your nose pierced" research (aftercare, problems, etc).
I noticed that many people used Castor Oil to accelerate healing and promote good aftercare. It seems good to me, but the formula is no where to be found!

Is Castor Oil common for aftercare? How often do I apply it on a freshly pierced nose?
Do I need to dilute it? Any brands you recommend?

    Thank you so much!

No, don't use it, rinse in the shower or sea salt soaks. The only oil that I know of that can assist in healing new piercings is emu oil.

Emu oil? Alright, any brands you could recommend? Do you dilute it?

I got mine off eBay no brand as such, just make sure it's pure and no you don't dilute it.

Just a heads up, I found emu oil amazing for a semi-healed (about 2 months old) nostril piercing that was getting a little dry skin around the hole. However I carried on using it after the dryness was fixed and a bump that I had previously got to go down flared up again
I stopped using the oil and the bump went again.

I'm honestly being won around to the 'less-is-more' approach with piercings. Start off with some SSS when its just been pierced then switch to just rinsing in the shower.
If any problems arise (bumps, dryness etc),. then look at trying something different to fix it. But I see no need to use extra lotions or potions from the get-go, I believe excess fiddling and prodding is probably the cause of most peoples healing problems (:
