Thread: TONGUE! questions!

  1. #1

    Cool TONGUE! questions!

K so i really want my tongue done but have heard horror stories like:
~ "my tongue swolle up so much that i stopped breathing"
~ or "so and so got hers pierced and bled to death"
~ "infection spreads to brain through vein that goes from brain to tongue.... and died"

so basically i really need for people with tongue piercings to tell me their experiences!

    please and thanks in advance

All nonsense of course, use the search facility and you will find loads of tongue experience diaries. Mostly not very painful to get done, horrid swelling for about 5-10 days for most, downsize after this and it heals very quickly. Pretty uneventful once healed.
    Piercings: 6 lobes, 2 12mm stretched lobes, 4 helices, 3 tragus, daith, 2 nostril, 2.4mm VCH, 2.4mm daith
    Modifications: 5mm septum punch,
coinslot ear cartilage removal, 5mm conch punch
Cosmetic Modifications: Scar removal x7, semi permanent eyebrows, semi permanent eyeliner, semi permanent lipstick, lip dermal filler, botox
Retired Piercings: 3 nipple, tongue, 4 philtrum, 4 eyebrow, 2 outer labia, VCH, 1 lobe, rook, nostril, 3 nape MDs, 2 wrist MDs, septum, 3 upper conch, conch, 5 helices
    Tattoos: 91 hours

It will be different for everyone.
Some people have no problem speaking at all, some will have a slight lisp for a couple days...a week...? No one can tell you what your personal experience will be.
    Now:
left ear: lobes x2, tragus, helix, rook
right ear: lobes x2, upper helix kinda thing
    left nostril, navel, septummmm!

    Later:

    another helix on left ear
    tongue

I had a lisp for about 2 weeks, even after the shorter bar! You have to kinda... learn how to speak again. It's very strange.

Exactly this, I could speak fine after a few hours, other people will have different experiences though. I think a lot of the time it's about trying to do everything normal as soon as you can, with eating just take it easier, don't make the mistake of going on a liquid diet though because your tongue muscle will get lazy and you'll make eating normal food even more hard work. I was eating and talking normally the same day, just avoiding over straining myself and avoiding food stuffs that may irritate it.

I've found my tongue piercings to be the least troublesome of all. Much like everyone else, not too painful, swelling for a week or so (three weeks when I got my venoms) and no trouble speaking (except with my venoms but I had four 22mm bars in my mouth to start with so yeah). I did stick to soft foods initially (mash, soup etc) but after a couple of days of it I missed real food every time haha
Got: Left Ear: Lobe (19mm/5mm/1.6mm), 4xhelix, 5mm conch

Right Ear: Lobe (19mm/5mm/1.6mm), inner helix, orbital (Top)

    Other: 4xtongue (2/2.4/3.2mm), septum
