    Default Tragus... HELP!

SO I got my tragus pierced last week and had a slight problem on day one with bleeding, but nothing major. Been washing twice a day as advised, but then woke up this morning to a painful at has swollen to 2x larger the the other (thickness). Its slightly red, and no wamrer to the touch than the other or the rest of my ear for That matter. Its sore to touch, but there is no obvious coloured discharge... Was wondering what the problem is likely to be and how t to resolve it, ideally without losing my piercing :(
    Thanks.

Its early in the healing process. If you are worried I would go & get your piercer to take a look. Mine is 2 1/2 months old & I still have to be gentle with it at times.

Sounds completely normal to me. Traguses (Tragii?) can take well over a year to heal and, being a cartilage piercing, can be quite temperamental. What are you using to clean it?

    How are you washing it?
    What jewellery is in there?
If it's a bar does it seem too long/short?

Remember that cartilage piercings can take 12-18 months to heal, at less than a week old what you describe is totally normal.

If it's infection you're worried about please note they are very rare in piercings. However signs of infection are:

Very swollen, very warm/hot to touch, excessive redness, very painful/throbbing, oozing brown/green/dark yellow pus with possible bleeding. If you had 2 or 3 or more of those symptoms then it could be infected. Some swelling, redness, clear/white/off white fluid and a little pain is normal at this stage.

Just give it time and clean it correctly or leave it alone.

It sounds pretty normal. Not all people heal exactly the same so the healing process can be unpredictable but you shouldn't worry too much this early on. Give it a few weeks and keep taking good care of it. If you have more concerns, consult your piercer.
