    Default 14g lobe punch?

    hi all

quick question. i was just talking to my friend who says he wants his lobe '14g punched' so that he can stretch it up.

well isn't that just like having it needled (because my tongue is 14g XD) or do they actually dermal punch it like?

    THANKYOU

I had my 1st and 2nd lobes re-pierced at 14ga. It was, as you say, just a needle!

    Aye just a needle.

Please educate him about stretching though, particularly the part about waiting a minimum of 6 months before starting. He doesn't sound very informed (so now that's your job )
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

    Both lobes 1/2", 5mm, 1.6mm
Left rook & 5mm helix punch
Right helix x2 & forward helix
    VCH, 5mm tongue

might as well use the same thread.
on the same note, what is the cut off point then between punching and the needle?
would 12g be a needle and then 10g be a punch?
    thankyou

You never punch soft tissues. Doing so causes them to self stretch dramatically and causes no end of problems in healing because of it (jewellery constantly falling out, hole closing back up over night as there's no jewellery in, breaking skin and ruining fistula formation putting jewellery back in etc etc).

Simply put there is no size where you should use a punch for lobes. And you can safely pierce them with a needle up to about 4mm or around 6g.
