    Well, it goes way back. The Romans started fish salting in Portugal actually. Then, in the 15th century, when the Portuguese maritime exploration started, the Portuguese started fishing cod and salting it as a way to keep it during long trips - they got it from northern Europe. You might find THIS interesting, even though not everything that's stated is true. ^^

    Homemade carrot/pumpkin/potato/onion soup with São Jorge cheese. I'm a very happy person right now.

    Yum! Soup is one of my favorite things ever.

    I made white bean chicken chili the other day. It was soooooo good! I added cheese and sour cream.

    I skipped the coriander seed and tomatillos, and used canned corn and pre-cooked chicken instead of fresh, but it was still super good!

    For my birthday / Christmas I got two awesome cupcake books, a cupcake decorating course & loads of decorating stuff (piping bags & nozzles, edible stars etc)

    I become an absolute clown when faced with cooking. All of my natural common sense instincts just go and I end up burning things, forgetting ingredients, under-cooking things etc...I am not a dinner party host you would want :-p
