Yep, definitely over-cleaning. I wouldn't soak at all, just give them a rinse in the shower and make sure there's no soap etc around them, and then just leave them alone! The whole '1st layer of skin' thing sounds a bit suspect, but leaving them alone might help it settle. The combo of dermal punching and soaking will have made it a bit more difficult; if you imagine that punching has made a bigger hole, and then soaking it loosens the skin even more, it could be that this has contributed to the problems you're having.

That said, good luck, and welcome to the forums!

The only cleaning that mine have had is in the shower in the morning - soaking them is a big no-no. Mine are 2 weeks old now and have settled perfectly.

On the after care sheet I was given it said soak for 10 mins minimum, 2-3 times a day!!!! Or use Saline and let dry 4-5 times a day!!!!
So glad yours have settled fine.
I'm a bit miffed with the piercer now. To top it all I think my nape one is rejecting, it is really wobbly grrr :(((
Think I need second opinion from different piercer....but then I will have to fork out more money :(
    Not happy!

It happens. For lots of piercers they're still quite a new thing so they give the same advice as they do for all other piercings.

Mine rejected without soaking as I knew to ignore that advice. Honestly, I think clavicle/collar bone/whatever you want to call it (mine was in the same place) is just a terrible location. Clothes, movement etc, it isn't a great location. I am going to try again somewhere similar but I found lots of necklines sit right around the area clavicle MDs would normally sit.

Yes - I don't think I'd want Clavicle MD's as I'd be sure to catch them. I thought very carefully about the placement of mine on my sternum - high enough to sit above scoop neckline, but low enough to be out of the way if I wear a short necklace. I think mine are fairly well protected by my ample chest anyway!

I have found I haven't caught them but the movement in the area is definitely not helpful! This morning I woke up with one hanging half out...I popped it back in and stuck a plaster on! Not having much luck with them so far...!
