    Default Any nurses here?

When on placement during Uni, did you have to take out your piercings?

It depends on the ward/ward sister. Most would be one stud per lobe.

    Now
    : 11mm lobes. 6mm septum.
    helix. tongue. rook. 5mm conch punches L & R.
    central labret. industrial. double nostrils.
    philtrum. tattoos.

    Retired: snakebites. nostril x 2. 2nd & 3rd lobes.
    helix. outer conch. nipple.

    Next: tattoos.

I am working as a nurse (Australian though, so irrelevant to most of you, and finished uni end of last year so working since Jan) and our only policy is 'stud jewellery' in facial piercings, which makes me laugh. I don't hide any of mine except my septum and that is for judgement reasons.

Yeah when I was a student the university had their own policies and some different facilities would have different policies (and I am sure private hospitals wouldn't let me get away with it) but you can see from my sig I have a few and as I said, the only one I actively hide is my septum.

I recently got told that we have a 'no piercings' policy, so I use a retainer on one side and mask the other with my fringe :-(

Yay..I'm a nurse!!! 30 years this year!! Most hospitals will allow plain ear studs only. It woulkd prob be best to wear a retainer.
