I was meant to be working a single shift tomorrow but they then asked i would do a double. Since im doing so many hours already this week i said no and then received this...
'Sorry Alyssa but I need to xld the shift for the 8th as I need someone to do double. Ta much'
What the hell does xld mean?! Im assuming they are cancelling my shift completely but xld?

The only vaguely sensible online definition for "xld" seems to be "extra light duty", but I'm not sure if that makes the message any clearer!

I just hope that following the no vote, things can start to improve in Greece.
I'm not just located in Greece, sadly I am Greek! It's a really, really hard language to learn, I wouldn't have wanted to have anything to do with it if I was from any other country. Ancient Greek is even worse, thankfully it's not used in daily life of course, so it's only useful in an academic sense.

Regarding the political situation right now... sigh. I really have no words, I don't have the slightest idea of what is happening and what is going to happen. I think there's a lot of stuff that the politicians aren't telling us (common people) so I have no idea what to think/ expect.

Oh, the cloying scent of decay, how it clings to everything it grasps betwixt its foetid fingers. Even now, hours later, all I can smell is putrid flesh.

Well I think the no vote was probably the right decision, especially if you leave the euro and the eu. The result will be horrible for several (many?) years, but probably less horrible than just continuing to borrow more with no way to pay it back. With a switch to a new drachma, you could start getting an income from tourism, agriculture (olive oil, for example - apparently Italy exports more than it grows, and imports yours too ) etc.

I think 'xld' can only mean cancelled in that context, although that doesn't exactly make sense with the rest of the sentence! if you google 'xld cancelled' you get a few results that look relevant.

FINALLY got my mum on the phone and found out my auntie's funeral is on saturday so we can go, mostly to be there for my dad (she was his sister). We'll probably do a shop run and cook them some dinner as well. Poor sods have been run ragged the past few days.
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

    Both lobes 1/2", 5mm, 1.6mm
Left rook & 5mm helix punch
Right helix x2 & forward helix
    VCH, 5mm tongue

It can be seen as professional but not out of context ie not discussing airline/airport things. They sound pretty daft tbh.
