If it's any consolation, I don't think teachers do bugger all. Yes you get longer holidays than the rest of us, but you have to pay ridiculous prices to go anywhere on holiday during that time and half of your "holiday" is lesson planning. Well done on your ofstead result

Congrats! I also don't think teachers do nothing, either when I was in school or now that I have an SEN child in school. I know for a fact they do a hell of a lot.

Thanks Hazel. It's just so disenheartening when every time I look at the news there's something about how awful we are. This week has been hard, but every day all that matters to me in the end is that I've made a difference to a child. Doesn't matter what. You're the kind of parent we need!

I know the feeling, I get told to my face that the work I do is BS, anti-religious, a scam, a con, a joke you name it. Not to mention I'm lazy cos I work from home ad infinitum. I also get told I should work for free and people try and wrangle free readings from me as well lol!

I honestly don't know how people can even begin to think teachers are lazy or have it easy, to me they have one of the most important and hardest jobs going! I would NEVER go into teaching (well children anyway) I wouldn't be able to cope with it.

This is why I don't have certain people on Facebook and/or don't post certain things on there. It's pretty much never private.

Thats pretty much a given for anything on the internet.
I only mentioned that they seem to be able to see things despite being blocked from doing so. Its the fact they can see it not the content it contains.

Have i gone mad? Im afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But i'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.

That's Facebook for you. I'd not put your trust in a free, overwhelmed, unmoderated network like that tbh.

So it's not what they're seeing, it's that they are even seeing it?
I'm sure it is frustrating that it isn't doing the job it is supposed to, perhaps do a google hunt and see if there are other experiences/fixes out there.

Oops sorry thread has morphed a bit. Teachers rock and don't get enough recognition, that includes the home schoolers

teachers, good teachers, deserve medals. My Y11 form tutor was literally something out of a film, she worked so damn hard on me and the same goes for my Y10 English teacher, she actually believed in me and that made all the difference (I was initially predicted to be C/D borderline in English. I got an A at GCSE and a B at A-Level) especially since I was in a set with people who could barely read for the majority of high school so my grade was low out of frustration, I was too intelligent for my class and didn't do well until my teacher saw my potential and pushed me to be in top set for year 11.

mega congratulations on your ofsted btw, that's absolutely fantastic
You sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.

Horror movies are not what they used to be!
