My piercer is lovely and supplies endless salt and measuring devices. I have about 5 or 6 bags of salt and it comes with a little spoon that is a 1/4 teaspoon and they say to mix it with 1 cup boiling water. (Which is not an exact ratio but close enough to be convenient because if we spent all our time worrying about getting it perfect then we would never soak, and that would be worse than a slightly out of whack SSS).

I got three bags with my last piercing just because my piercer wanted me to have extra for current and old piercings and just in case so I didn't have to go and find proper salt myself. Haha. <3

Please don't over do it. Never soak more than twice a day.

Good info! Too bad I didn't read this a couple weeks ago, my peircing turned out fine... But the piercer was really shady and not up to hygienic standards!

Well, I said that wrong. He is not my piercer, my piercer lives too far away now and this new guy will never come near me with a needle for as long as I live! Word of advice, get background info! Even if it is awkward, it's better to have an awkward moment than an infection

Oh wow, I wasn't aware that the sea salt mix had to be precise.

:O so glad i read this, I used way too much salt in the past. Getting my septum pierced this saturday.
    Very helpful thankyou

I take way longer to heal than other people, it might of been because of how much sea salt salt i was using :O

I'll do it right this time
