Thread: Labret piercing question

    Default Labret piercing question

So i got my labret, and it still has the long labret stud in it from the initial piercing.
Its quite loose, but i dont really mind, im getting shorter ones wednesday/thursday, but the flat part on the post ive noticed its caused a dent on the inside of my lip.
I pull it out all the time but it still seems to go back.
Is this normal, or do you think im pushing it without noticing ?

It is loose, and when i pull it out, it still has room on the outside, so its not too short for my lip.

Oh, and the dented in skin seems to be a little sensetive.

Mine has a little indent on my inner lip area where the flat part is... it just gets settled into you lip, nothing to worry about IMO.

It's called nesting, it tends to be about the thickness of the footplate on the bar yes

It shouldn't look like the back of your labret is about to disappear into your lip but it does tend to look like its made a little 'nest' to sit in, hence the term!

Exactly what kuku said. Also, you said it's somewhat sensitive, right? I personally had the same experience, and it eventually got pretty painful, so I changed to a ptfe bar (bioplast works as well) with a metal ball on the outside so it still looked the same, and it felt flawless. Might be an idea to talk to your piercer about when you go to get downsized.
