So I play World of Warcraft (I have two level 80s as of yesterday O_o), am obsessed with Norse Mythology (so I LOVE Northrend!) and cats and liebe the German language (and Germany itself). Due South is my favourite television program and the Gormenghast Trilogy is my favourite book series. When I was in Year 7 the school librarian informed me that I had taken out the largest number of books in the entire year group that year lol. I barely read anymore though :s. I love learning languages (Germanic especially) but most of it has fallen out of my brain :(. Everyone goes on about how harsh German sounds but I think it's beautiful.

I think it's the interest/obsession that vaults it into geekdom I spent a happy half hour with my kids making up names for ridiculous dog breeds. In the ilk of the Labradoodle... (my favourite, not shared with my kids was a shiitzu/setter cross called a "shitter"... small pleasures!)

i'm a bit geeky about english as well, basically i won't ever forget poems or stories that i've read and can pretty much quote books/poems/film bits from heart :S
I am a grammar geek. I get terribly disappointed in myself if I spell something wrong, or use an apostrophe in the wrong place! It is sad really!

Well, the only things I ever watch or read are either sci-fi, supernatural, fantasy, crime mystery or educational genres (my Mastermind specialist subject would be Buffy and in fact I have the first few graphic novels of both that and Angel). I love my computer and spend far too much time playing games on it. I've just ordered books on Greek mythology and ancient Rome because I love that type of history and am really out of touch with it. Oh and my best subjects at school were maths, science and IT.
I love Vampires! I love that you have considered your Mastermind subject! I spend ages thinking of mine. I can never decide as each new obsession hits! Then I worry oer whether you'd do your strongest subjet first, or save that for the next round... (ever the optimist!!) . If you like Mythology, the Percy Jackson books are fun for that. They are not in depth, but amusing fo rkids books. It has interested my kids in mythology and reminded me of how little I can remember. Reading them got me a question right watching Eggheads teh other day!

I love books too! And language, though I have done th opposite of you; moved more into books and less into language!

I have a slightly obsessive rant. I love the True Blood bokos (the Sookie Stackhouse Series) and I have been waiting for the latest book for ages. It came out yesterday and I managed to get it today. The cover is the subject of my rant. Basically the books are very different to the TV series. To the extent that I stopped watching the TV series as I hated what had happened to characters I loved and also how different everything was. However, the book jacket is a photographic one of the TV series. Soem of the characters on the jacket aren't even IN the fecking book! I am so annoyed as it spoils my series collection. I am writing to the publisher!

I frustrate myself whenever exams come around because I can remember pretty much everything that ever happened in Buffy, yet I can't remember the things I've spent the last three months learning despite the fact that they are far more important than a TV show! I think I shall check those books out, thanks I rarely know any answers on Eggheads, probably because I'm too busy sending 'hate' vibes to CJ to pay attention to the questions.

Forgot to add a few things: my grammar geekiness and the fact that I am a suscriber to both New Scientist and The Psychologist.
    I'm Ellen.
Have: Navel, right nostril, lip, 1st lobes.
    Want: 2nd lobes, conch, microdermals.
