    Default Woohoo! Nostril Piercing

    Hi guys

This morning, the only piercings I had were my lobes pierced & stretched up to 4 & 5mm, and my left auricle and left helix pierced.

I have always wanted my tongue pierced, but don't fancy the possibility of teeth/gum damage. I quite like the look of nostril piercings, and though it would look good with my dreads, so fancied getting one.

I live in Gosport, UK (near Portsmouth). I have recently moved to the area so didn't know of any local piercers.

Yesterday I went into Apus Body Art in Gosport high street, who were friendly and the studio was clean and fresh but they had a limited jewellery choice, and wouldn't let me bring my own jewellery in. So today I dragged my boyfriend round a load of piercing studios in Portsmouth. We visited Portsmouth Ink, Body Images, and Pierce It @ Withit. I was expecting Portsmouth Ink to be good and my favourite choice, but they preferred to pierce with a gun and didn't know the risks associated with it. Body Images also offered a gun or needle, but had a limited jewellery choice again. Pierce It @ Withit didn't have a massive jewellery choice either, but gave me loads of time with my questions despite the fact there was a big queue behind me. I felt totally comfortable with the piercer, Elle, and decided to go ahead with a titanium labret stud. Elle put me totally at ease - I asked to see everything sterile, and she was more than happy to show me without making me feel like I was being paranoid/picky. I told her that I'd previously fainted after a blood test and was worried about doing the same thing here (it's been years since I had my ears pierced, and they were gunned). Elle was great - she talked through the piercing, asked if I wanted a countdown etc. The actual piercing was quick, but slightly uncomfortable - it more tickled than anything, and yep, made my right eye water!

Nearly two hours later, it still doesn't hurt/throb, and I have not seen a drop of blood. It's weird to see it out of the corner of my eye! It's not the prettiest jewellery, but I can go back to have it changed for a shorter bar in a few weeks (free of charge), or bring my own jewellery in and they'll autoclave it for me first. I can't wait to put a ring in it.

All in all, very happy! I'll be over-the-moon if it doesn't hurt/swell any more (ha ha!).

    Congrats.

I found it rather painful actually, and mine bled a lot. Lucky you!

Did my first SSS on it this evening, filled a cup with warm boiled water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Rested my face on it in a very uncomfortable position to allow my nostril to submerge for about ten minutes. Then had a nice shower and rinsed it off.

I can still hardly feel it - it's behaving perfectly! No swelling, soreness, itchiness, throbbing... wow. I hope it stays this good.

Spent about half an hour just looking at it in the mirror... I love it, and can't quite believe it's real.

Just about to go to bed with freshly laundered bedding; that should help keep it nice and clean.

So last night was my first sleep with my nostril piercing, and it went really well. I didn't once (consciously!) lay on it, and could sleep fine on my front/both sides just as I normally do.

I did a ten minute SSS this morning and found a slightly comfier way of doing so. I then went sailing and was a bit worried about knocking it, but it was fine. (Big boat sailing - so no submerging myself in the sea.)

It still doesn't hurt/throb, there has been no lymph and no crusties/scab type things. I can screw my nose up and it doesn't hurt now.

I really hope it stays this good, touch wood!
