    Unhappy Infected cartilage piercing

i got up this morning, was getting washed and i thaught to check my one cartilage, i saw it was white and puffy, i panicked and tried to take the bar and ball out and all this smelly puss came out, i cleaned it off my hands and cartilage and took it out, cleaning up the blood as well. At the moment i've got it covered with a piece of bandage with disenfectant.......but I'm going to see my piercist today and ask him what to do....i hope i don't need to go to the hospital (i've only had this piercing for about....2-3 months)

Taking the jewellery out can cause the infection to get trapped in the hole which could cause more problems I would go see you dr and get some antibiotics

bad idea to take the jewelry out, it acts as a drainage.

I wouldn't. Give it frequent soaks to keep the outer layers of skin open until you can go to the doctor.

Well has the hole closed up yet? if not you could ask your piercer to try and taper the hole more open ant re-insert the claved jewellry. But i would advise seeing your doctor for some anti-biotics as a precaution (:

The hole has closed up and it full of dried blood, but i used Hydrojen Peroxide Solution(6% 20 vols) to get ri of the dried skin, and now i'm just re-disinfecting my ear........well, i'm going tomorrow early in the morning to get it all sorted out

and thank you everyone for the advice!
