That sounds a lot different to retail There are just retail courses (& I agree with Amy about those tbh) - but fashion managing & marketing sounds much better/more reputable/more useful than just 'retail'. Have you been to any open days etc? Sign up to TSR if you haven't already and see if you can find anyone elses experiences of similar courses.

I have little uni-related news other than that I still love the OU much more than proper uni ;D All my friends have just finished their degrees - except the handful who did placement or foundation years, and the one doing medicine - and they're all kinda shitting themselves about having to get a job. Most of them have just signed on straight away, heh.

    It does yeah

and its a shame about jobs and stuff, some people do take degrees in subjects where jobs are very limited e.g. forensic science ! but if thats what they are good at and enjoy then they should be able to do the degree and get a job ... sadly not the case , film studies is another one theres not many jobs but lots of people do the course :(

Oh don't be like that. ''I'm going to do a degree in how to work in retail'' sounds like the most pointless thing ever.

I'm not trying to be a bitch, I'm just saying, if that was all it was, then maybe there's no point going to uni for it after all.

The city or the uni? I'm visiting the uni in September but I'd quite like to see the city too at some point as I've never been

Also while I'm on it, does anyone know what the places I'm applying (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Nottingham and London) are like for getting new holes? Obviously there's places in London but I have no idea about the rest

For Glasgow you've got Nirvana or Glasgow piercing Studio... they're both in the city centre, and have great piercers

Excellent It really won't affect my choice of where I go (if I even have a choice!) but it's nice to know there'll be somewhere to get pierced

Everyone sounds really arrogant in their personal statement Katie, don't worry about it

Speaking of personal statements I really need to make a start on mine

I know, it's just what I sound like on paper is completely different to how I actually talk.. with a bit of thesaurus work I can actually sound intelligent on paper, if I ever get an interview I'm screwed :P we're getting bludgeoned into doing ours ridiculously early ><
