I have endometreosis that rules out IUD - i cant go on any long term pill like implant, injection becos then id have to suffer the side affects for ages. it wouldnt be like i could just stop taking it, it would be in my system. so not a lot of options really

I have endometriosis and I've found the hormone only coil a godsend. The one I'm on is called Mirena, it's massively reduced the pain and the amount of endometrial lining so it's kinda put the endo on hold. Just a suggestion. Although I found Microgynon a good pill (even though my periods were still painful) so I can't guarantee it'll work as well for you. I'd also suggest asking if your GP has someone whose trained in female reproductive bits 'coz most doctors don't know much about endo and can be horribly insensitive about it and not very helpful because they seem to think it's just us girlies whining about a period. Good luck, it's a horrible thing to have. I'm so grateful I managed to sort mine.

Did you have to have surgery to insert it? I have a severe dislike of hospitals lol

as soon as the implant is removed its side effects stop, so its worth thinking about

I didn't mean a female one, I meant one whose had specialist training. So they actually know what endo is etc. You need a trained one to insert the coil anyway. And no it's not sugery, you don't even need anaesthetic. You just pop your legs up on braces, relax, it doesn't take very long to put in and it's not too painful, just like bad cramps. Then you have cramps for a couple of days and it's all done. The worst part is the awkwardness of having a doctor, a nurse and a training doctor studying your bits.

i knew my comments would get this reaction, but at the end of the day its my opinion, if you dont like it...well i cant help that.. everyone is entitled to their opinion, i stated mine like everyone else has stated theirs.


i was looking into termination after reading a few of your responces, its an old article (2007)... but after reading it, its made me feel sick... and surprisingly close to tears... not alot seems to affect me in the medical sense... death ect is all part of the job... but this...... its sickening.

I'd like to comment that it's pretty rare for people to have an abortion that late into the pregnancy. Most of the foetuses I see at work are about 8-10 weeks old. The article is suggesting the foetuses older than 17 weeks are potentially alive post termination.

Yes, they can happen up to 24 weeks. However, the vast majority of these are carried out when there is a risk to the mother if they continued the pregnancy.

I was just having the "baby discussion" with my bf and his friend the other day.

My opinion is basically that until I am financially stable and I've done everything I want to do with my life (sky diving, breaking in horses, had a good career for a bit etc) then I don't want a child. I like the idea of being pregnant but i think too many people are in love with the idea of "being pregnant" and "having a baby" Whar I think a lot of people forget is that you're not just having a baby...it turns into a child, which can go horribly wrong if you're not a great parent...then it turns into a teenager which can go even worse if you weren't a great parent when it was a child.

I think I'll make a good parent even though I'm not maternal at all. I hate other people's children that run about and scream and are not disciplined. But I know if I had my own I would do it well and bring them up to be well mannered people in the same way I was brought up. And I know if I found out I was pregnant the maternal thing would kick in.

My boyfriend agrees that he'd like a family but I think we both want to enjoy the time we have with each other before kids come and ruin it. I like our alone time too much to even think about spoiling that in the future.

So basically what I'm saying is, if I got pregnant by accident, I'd probably be happy but I'm certainly not planning a baby. Lol

Well i'm pro choice.

If you feel abortion is wrong, then don't have one. Thats your business.

However, remember its just opinion. So don't judge others for choosing to go through it. They are not "doing the wrong thing", they are "doing a different thing to you."

Also, those videos, i cannot view on my mobile right now. I will investigate when i get home at 9am, because if they are particularly graphic, then they shouldn't be on the forum.
