It seems alot of doctors and nurses are capable of not telling you the whole truth and making you go googling instead, which isn't ideal, it always makes me nervous about seeing others just incase.

My docs answers to severe server period pain and all the side affects is always to stick me on the Pill - despite the fact that ive had loads of diff types and they all disagree with me. The Pill is not a magic solve everything.

Its like bcos they've developed this then the scientists have stopped working on alternative. dammit i want somethingthat stops me having periods but doesnt make me ill, doesnt let me get pregnant and isnt hormone based !!!!!!!!!!
    Current: Lobes at 14mm
Tatotos: Bluebell at base of spine, winged heart with stars between shoulder blades

Retired: 3rd lobe, auricle and upper helix, both nipples, reverse navel, snakebites *sob*

http://www.nuvaring.com/Consumer/index.asp they have brought out something new but currently you can't get it in england (And its combined pill again so I cant use it), if you don't like the idea of hormones why not try the coil?

I got quite upset when the Nurse refused my pill (they were really nice about it) and she got her colleague to come in and explain things in more detail for me (she was a specialist or something) and some of her first words about me to her were 'for some reason, this one wants periods! *chuckle*'

...I mean really is it so wrong to want to function like a normal woman?! (Yes ok so controlling your hormones in that way isn't 'normal' but hush) Hell I don't *like* periods but I do like knowing my bits are working and theres not some evil devil spawn growing in me about to take over the world! (*cough*)
I also like that I know when its going to happen every month so I can prepare and put the pretty knickers away for a week where as the mini pill doesn't really offer that option and makes me feel like for the first year i'm on it i'll have to pack away all the pretty knickers just in case (*Sniff* the pretties *Sniff*).

It sounds like to me that hundreds of women were put on microgynon because its the cheapest pill and now people are suddenly realising that there is a large health risk to people with aura migranes (if you do a quick google it seems lots of women are suddenly being pulled of micro in the last year or so) so I say SUE! SUE THEM ALL!

As for the scar from the implant thanks for the photo, I'd not heard of problems in that respect but to be honest I have a much worse scar from a rejected navel piercing! FYI too my leaflet states that all people having the implant *Should* have a local anaesthetic so if you didn't get one raise hell!

my scar looks like its a natural birthmark.. almost as small as a freckle... my scars from my nickel allergies are waaaaay worse :P

i always assumed that you'd get local anaesthetic anyway.. do people really get them without??

One girl on this thread went without apparently *Shock* although really its just like getting a subdermal still... i'm willing to undergo pain for beauty and art but not because i'm being fussed around by the medical world.... totally vain but i'm in a stubborn 'take my pill away from me will you?!' mood!

Plus scar + bio oil = no issue :P

Hmm, this has put me off going on the pill, because I didn't realise how common migraine-like side effects seem to be...

I have an appointment for the doctors on Tuesday, so I'll see what he says then. The reason I am considering the pill is because appear to have a double cycle, so I'm getting what is equivalent to two periods a month (I didn't even know that was possible until it started happening), which each last nine days, meaning I'm practically on all the time! I'm worried I'm becoming anaemic because of this... Arggg, being a woman frustrates me at times.

Does anyone have any suggestions/input? Thanks
    I'm Rara (:

    Currently: RightEar - 2 Lobes, LeftEar - 1 Helix, 1 Lobe. Navel Piercing (:
Planning On: RightEar - Rook, 2nd Helix, LeftEar - Tragus, 3rd Lobe.
Possibly: Lower Right Labret, Left Nostril, Septum.

I'll imagine they'll more than likely put you on the mini pill, stopping your periods. Interesting, I'd be surprised if they didn't, instead of discovering why they just usually try to hide it.
