I did I'd had old gunned lobes that I'd stretched to 2mm and had been wearing SS labrets in, except my ears got really p*ssed off and when I took them out they closed up.
I didn't do one no, but if you have any questions just ask!

Double post but this is completely unrelated so I won't edit the first

I'm thinking about downsizing my septum to 2mm, but I'm not sure yet. I've ordered some jewellery for it in 2mm and had originally planned to wear it through an earskin but I'm (a) a bit worried about it spinning around all the time and (b) I currently have a pearly earskin and they must be thicker than the last one I had (which the cat(s) ate...) because I cannot get it in!
So yeah, any opinions? Anyone got experience of wearing rings through an earskin in their septum?

    I have many questions :P
how long did you wait roughly from take the 2mm out and getting re pierced?
Iirc you got them done at 4mm? was this pierced at 4mm, or pierced smaller and tapered up?

eta: Removed the material question as you already said that, sorry! :P

I probably had mines out a good year or two before getting them repiercied. They might have been ready earlier but I wasn't overly bothered about getting them done so I never bothered to check.
They were pierced at 3.2mm and tapered up to 4

Yeah that's one of the things that would put me off, I can't imagine having no lobe piercings for potentially a year or so :S

Even so, I think this will be my only option if I ever want to wear the larger stone plugs or even anatometal gemmed eyelets which I'm in love with.
They would just look silly in 2nd holes :/

Or you could get them scalpelled.

The thought of that actually makes me feel quite sick!

lets say for examples sake, i took all jewellery out tonight and let them attempt to close while massaging for like 6 months or so.
as long as the 3mm have shrunk back down, would there be any negative implications of piercing through or near existing holes?
I don't think my firsts will ever close entirely as they're nearly as old as me :s

Haha, I'm a bit squeamish about it too! Hence the bigger piercing :P

I honestly don't know, I think you'd really need to ask a piercer/someone who knows more than me. You could try asking Darren on here or pop in to see your piercer.
Or there could likely be another member who'll see this and know

Yeah might Pop Darren a PM.
My family are still Surrey/London way, so visiting him for this is an option!

Another question for anyone that's experienced this or knows how to avoid it... its pretty gross maybe tmi,.. when closing a piercing up hows best to avoid dirt and stuff getting stuck in the hole? with my naval and 1 lobe I've experienced sort if black head style gunk build up. I shower once if not twice a day so i'm clean lol, just worried this might happen. Would regular soaks draw any gunk build up out?

Seriously considering having my lobes scalpelled. There's unstretchy and then there's just plain ridiculous!
