I can't get my new wooden plugs in they are 1/2", which is fine, but it's as if they're too "grabby" for my ears, even when I oil them like crazy.

    What can I doooooooooo?
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

    Both lobes 1/2", 5mm, 1.6mm
Left rook & 5mm helix punch
Right helix x2 & forward helix
    VCH, 5mm tongue

    Anyone?
    Current

It feels wierd to have matching (ish) jewellery, albeit in 9/16 and 2g :P. So glad I got my amber/purple colorfronts!
Current: Double nostrils, philtrum, nipple. Various cartilage, 9/16'' lobes.
Retired: Nipple, navel x4, wrist, nape, MD, tongue web x2, lower lip piercings x4, nostril, helix, lobe piercings, septum, cheek piercings.
    4 tattoos.

What is my life for and what am I going to do with it? I don't know and I'm afraid. I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want.

Might be inconsistencies in your ear care routine, might be the weather, might be the water where you live ... who knows might just be crappy luck.

Try giving them a winter of love. Wear whatever material they always enjoy, take them out before you shower, wash your lobes in the shower and follow with an oil massage and an hour of rest time before putting your plugs back in. Make sure your plugs are clean of course, and wipe away any excess oils etc so your lobes are moisturised but not actually wet.
Also protect them from cold and windy weather.

Thank you for the tips but I may have to skip out on leaving them out for an hour because my ears shrink very quickly.
Should I wait until the winter months are over to try stretching again? I've done during winter before, but I'll admit it took months to do so.

What kind of oil do you use? Seems like emu oil is the best for soothing irritated, dry lobes.
I've stretched in the winter before but then again I don't go outside much.
