I'm a little late seeing it, but I just saw The Hunger Games for the first time. Thought it was an 8/10. Really stuck true to the book, which I like. I loved it :3

    Not seen that for YEARS

Today I saw the start and the end of Cowboys and Aliens. I missed the middle of it cos I had to get up for breakfast and go to a briefing, but it looks like a fair-to-middling but pretty damn silly film. I'll get around to watching the rest of it at some point.
I still have a lot of love for Harrison Ford <3

Watched Prometheus the other day. Not bad & I like the idea behind it. Some silly scenes spoil it though. 6/10

Perhaps so much was left hanging for a directors cut or sequel (I know Alien is a sequel) to further develop.
I suspect no-one involved in the film actually knows anything beyond the most superficial about DNA and evolution as that side of the flim was just poor. Those with me who also have bio-science backgrounds were equally scathing.
On the whole, it's ok but won't ever make a 'must see again and again' list, even for the most ardent fan of the Alien (and probably Predator) franchise. Alien is great the first time you see it, Aliens is always a fun action movie for a beer-and-movies session, Alien 3...meh, Alien 4...meh. Prometheus - having seen I'd sooner see Aliens again than Prometheus.
    100% agree with this.
Alien was great, Aliens was kickass, the rest ..... not so much.
