Oh yeah, the wonders of long distance.
Next year is going to be even worse for us than this year, cos as well as me working offshore, he's signed up to more work in the middle east. :/ Thank god for email.

I'm going back to a platform on monday, really hoping it'll be 3 weeks (they've hinted it might only be 2) so I'll be home when hubs gets back. If it's only 2 weeks, they could potentially send me out again to another one without seeing him.
At least platforms usually have wi-fi so we can chat via imessage.

I don't know how you cope with long distance long term, the only thing that keeps me going is that one day things might not be long distance. Although at this rate f**k knows when that'll ever be since it's just getting further and further

^ I just keep in mind that it's not permanent. I started this job thinking "I'll give it a couple of years" ... it's been 2 & 1/2 years now, looking at another year so ... yeah. I'd have to take a land-based job if I got pregnant though I think, so if that happens then we can re-assess our long term plans.
Tbh I cope with it better than he does. I quite like having my own space sometimes. Obviously I miss him but I don't often get desperately lonely. When I'm working I'm surrounded by people, most of whom are likeable, and at home I've got two cats

Theres always days when I just want a hug and none of the men around me are the right one (ie my husband) those are sad days. Hot chocolate helps :P

You are a stronger woman than me I think

I'm just finding it all very difficult at the moment because things are changing a lot all the time at the minute (new jobs, me relocating etc). I think once things have settled down a bit it should be easier, I'll have more idea of when we'll actually be able to see each other instead of wondering when the next time I'll see him will be

Oh yeah not knowing when you're going to see each other is horrible :( been there.
Things can change with me at short notice but at least we have an idea, and he's got definite dates.

    *big hugs*

Thanks I knew it would be hard but I think it's the not knowing that gets me most, at the moment I might not get to see him until after Christmas :( Things should be easier though once I'm sorted in the new job and I get a car. FaceTime is a wonderful invention though, dunno where I'd be without it ha
