I really do have an irrational dislike and feelings of annoyance towards the American spelling of 'foetal'. I have no idea why it makes me as outraged as it does, but it really p!sses me off. =P

People should be able to make their own decisions without being slagged off for them on Facebook, especially by people with little/no real connections to them.
My friend told NO ONE apart from her partner what she was naming her baby for the reason that she didn't want anyone giving their unwanted opinions. As soon as her little boy was born and she told me his name, I nearly cried it's that beautiful. I know she wouldn't mind me posting it here, it's Winter Harlem Eli She got the usual people bitching about the name when people found out but she just put them in their place, as it is in her nature to do haha.

Actually, in response to the whole baby names thing, my best friend got a load of sh!t off of her sister. She'd found out the gender of her second baby, so had a name sorted before she was born. But her sister took the p!ss so much and was just generally a dick about it that my friend changed it. Not because she thought her daughter would be bullied by other kids (it was a perfectly normal name) but that she wasn't even born and she was being bullied by her aunt. =/

That woman is such an arsehole. But, on the flip side, I think my friend's daughter's name is much, much prettier than the one she was originally going to have. ^_^ It's just a shame how it came about.

They're such lovely names, I love a more unusual name and think people need to mind their own business. We were contemplating the name Avalon for if we ever have a little girl and my brother acted like we'd totally lost the plot when we mentioned it!

You'd be surprised how weird people get about foreign names too, my mum purposely doesn't use her real name now because people raise an eyebrow about her name and her sister does too. My mum is called Antoinette and my aunt is called Celestina and because people make unneccessary comments about them, they call themselves Toni and Tina. It's very sad, and partly reason why my mum didn't give me an Italian name.

Manda I LOVE your kids' names! I too am partial to unusual names, we had friends who gave all three of their kids "nature" names, so they all had hippie animal names as well as their normal names and I thought that was brilliant

The fact I'm still plagued by boils 15 years after getting my first! The one under my arm hasn't healed and now I've got one on my bum cheek :(

People who assume they know you and what you're about and what you do, and say things like "I don't want to sound like I'm telling you what you should do", and then proceed to tell you exactly what they think you should be doing, because they're obviously more important than anything
