thanks for the info I'll look into it - I'm not sure I'd qualify but then again I might. Definitely going to speak to my parents about it.

I only thought mum would've told me/known as she specialised in lone parents and then went on to manage a job centre which had a LOT of young people going to it, so she's generally very versed on anything that can help out people on low incomes (i.e. students).
You sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.

Sounds crazy but I'm so glad I'm medically exempt from paying prescription charges, I definitely couldn't afford over 8 an item and the different forms to get help seem seriously confusing.

The thing is, I know 8 quid is still a lot of money if you are a student/on a low-income, or have multiple prescriptions, but that is still in many cases a heavily subsidised price. Where I live, I am luckily covered by private health insurance but from looking at the price stickers on a lot of my asthma medication, 8 quid is a lot cheaper than if I was paying the 'true' price.

^ having the same sort of issue trying to get our leaking air con fixed, which is just not on when it's 40℃+ outside! The housing lady said yeah no worries I'll get someone to have a look, but not what day or time or even if it'll be this week!
We can't really run the air con because it pours water on top of an electrical switch :/

Companies sending out half my order! I ordered 5 things from iwoot for nicks birthday and had a code for next day delivery. I've just received 2/5 with the other three still showing on my account as "awaiting dispatch" grr!

The prices are odd you know and often insanely inflated, over here it is anyway. I used to work for the PPA and the price of some items were astonishing but I got told that wasn't really their true value if you get me? Pharmaceuticals basically get into massive contracts and monopolise certain drugs and so then charge whatever they feel like. It's a really scary industry.

8.10 is a lot but I honestly feel there's a lot in place to help those who are truly needing the help such as pre-pay and the HC2 and all exemptions list. There will always be that group who just misses out for help with high expenditure that it hits though.
