if it's hurting every time then it sounds like there might be too much pressure and what your putting in isn't going in smoothly. so try some of these things:

rugular massages with vit-e oil (every day or other day)

when your ear is all healthy (ie, don't do this for a while after stretching), play with it. tug and pull at the jewellery (not too hard!). which will help build elasticity in the skin.

hang some weights off the jewellery for a while (make sure it's not too much weight, a bit of pressures good, but pain or discomfort aint). do this in the days leading up to a planned stretch.

day of the stretch, nice warm bath and soak the ear.

all this together should ensure maximum elasticity in the skin for the stetch. if you wait a couple of months before the next stretch, do all of this and you STILL experience pain, then you're very unfortunate to have virtually no elasticity in your skin. don't think ther'll be a lot you can do

ALSO, the first few stretches are always the hardest. they do get a bit easier as you go on
    Lobe - 19mm
Inner to outer conch orbital - 1.6mm
    Center lip - now 3mm
    Tongue - 4mm

If it's hurting and pressure it might be easier for her to just go down a size then do all that you suggested, I think it was similar to when grunstruck stretched his septum and the day after it was hurting and once he'd downsized he felt alot better ^.^

    Thumbs down Please!!!!!

    SIGH
Can we not all share our experiences together & use our own discrection as to wether we agree or not. If people stretch too quickly they'll soon find out when they've damaged their lobes beyond the point of recovering/healing/saving.
