    Default Conch

Ok so I had my conch done a while back with a 1.6 gauge bar (have I said that right?) now I've changed it to a bar with I think is a thinner gauge, is this going to affect it, should I keep a bigger one in?

Also, how long does it take to close conch piercings? I don't want to, I'm just wondering as I don't know if it's going to close around the bar i have now and I won't get a thicker bar in

    Cheers!

I think if you want to keep it at 1.6, you should put the bar back in as soon as possible.
Piercings - 5mm lobe, 6mm lobe , tragus, nostril, septum (2mm), 2 center tongue piercings, labret, right and left side of lip, VCH.

    Retired - Scaffold, 2 x 1.6 Lobes

Because you've put a thinner bar in it, the hole will go down in size. Like most piercings. The hole will go down extremley fast. If the hole does get thinner and you want to change it back to it's original bar, you will have to stretch it back in. THIS IS PAINFUL! As I had a similar experience with my tragus.

I took out my conch last night because it never healed. It was constantly sore for 3/4 months and I didn't want to put up with the pain anymore. I'm not sure how long it takes to heal over either.

the cartilage probably wont go down in size, but the skin around it will, so putting the original jewellery in wont be as bad as cartilage stretching, but it will hurt pushing through the skin.

if you want it at 1.6mm (which is standard and has the widest choice of jewellery) then put the original barbel back in ASAP.
