Ahh. I'm really open, I just let them go with whatever they think will suit me and it's worked so far. But I've had it really wild. The most avant garde was a long heavy fringe, shaved on both sides with like a bob gradient at the back and it was dyed white with a bright daffodil yellow fringe and back. Oh and the crown was literally half an inch long. Completely crazy but I loved it, it's probably my favourite look I've had so far.

Eeee! That sounds awesome, I adore crazy, although after 20 years of dying it and having different styles etc I've gone natural, I just can't be arsed any more. I suppose if someone was doing it for me I'd be ok lol! But I'm growing it now and don't even use shampoo or anything and don't get it cut now either.

That does sound so cool. How does one get into this? If I find a regular job that allows fun hair I would totally do this on the side

I know someone who used to do something similar but she also did regular modelling (face shots) and she got the work through her modelling agency. Might be a place to start. Being a hair model to get practised on (not to model designs) all you have to do is enquire at salons or look in the window. I used to get my hair done for free or cheap as a kid this way ^_^

I reckon I'm past it age wise for anything like this haha!

I think my henna-in would prevent me from getting much work since you have to pretty much grow it out! My hair is lush ATM though, especially with my extensions in

I just got spotted by someone from Wella. I did a small paid job for them as a demo model and they passed my details on to the group I work for now. Been doing it over a year now and the bookings keep coming. The more you do it, the more contacts you make. You can either go through an agency or you can make the contacts yourself which is what I do as I get more work that way. Agencies tend to charge more and heavily stipulate what hairdressers can and can't do to the models and sometimes even demand that they be put back to their original state which creates more work for the hairdresser.

A lot of hairdressers are on the look out for models so you're best off going into a couple of high end salons asking if they need demo models. The type of work you'll get will depend on your face shape, body type, hair type and flexibility but at the very least you'll get a cheap haircut out of it. If you're very flexible, you'll get used more. I have literally no limits to what they can do to me. I just sit down and let them at me.

Yup yup, can be a PITA. ^_^

It's cool how places headhunt, a company did that with my son when he was very young. We didn't go for it in the end though as it involved a lot of travelling which I just couldn't do.

Sorry to be nosy, but I'd love to see some photos of some of the styles you've had, if they're available online anywhere?
