Has anyone had extensions before? My hair is currently about shoulder length and very fine (like I can't used a tiny hair doughnut without it showing through) and I really want more volume/length than I can realistically achieve naturally by the wedding but I'm really not sure what prices are reasonable, what's the best method for attaching them or how close to the wedding to get them done, any tips?

I've been doing what I used to do as a kid, leaving my hair until it starts to get curly(takes about 4 days to a week), then washing it.
It doesn't feel all that dirty, just a bit oily.

Back from the hairdressers. As expected I hate it it's so short! but it's for the best. I also hate blow drys, everyone else comes out looking nice and pretty yet as soon I step out of the door its 'Nope you have to look like you've just rolled out of bed!'

Aww hugs, I hate blowdrys too cos they get it to sit in a style that I never ever wear it in. They should really ask us how we do it at home and then try do it that way.

my mum always washes her hair straight after coming back from the hairdressers. She says it never looks right until it's 'settled' (so not even that she's styled it how she wants, just, I don't know. It doesn't look right until she's had it a couple of days.) I tend to agree; I don't like my hair straight out of the hairdressers.

^ I agree as well, I find a new haircut takes a bit of wearing in.
You should see my mum, she comes back from the hairdresser all styled to the max but doesn't bother with it much herself normally. So she has salon hair for a day or two then it's just ... I don't even know.

No point in hairdressers asking me how I blow-dry my hair at home, cos I don't! I haven't had a hairdryer for years. I let it sit in my microfibre towel for a bit, then comb a few drops of jojoba oil through it and let it air-dry by itself.
Could never do that pre-undercut though. Just Too. Much. Hair. Tbh I usually wash my hair in the evening and let it dry overnight. Sure it's a mess but who cares? :P
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

Washing it isn't gonna make it long again aha! It's so short! I hate it
They do blowdry it into a style that I wear but because it's been done with a hairdryer and not straighteners it just doesn't stick and looks so messy as soon as I step out of the door

Which begs the question, why'd you let them cut it that short? Did you have damage to get rid of? :(

To be fair, I often have my hair cut shorter than I like as it grows so quickly. If I have it cut to a length I like, I'd need it cutting/trimming every few weeks, whereas if I go shorter I don't have to do it so often.

... That said, I've not had my hair cut since September for graduation. I am so lazy. I need a fringe putting back in.
