Yeah GHDs work for a lot of people but not me sadly, my hair is very unruly. It will frizz and kink within an hour with GHDs. My old Kodos (not made any more) would keep it straight for 5 days. My hair is very fine, very frizzy but there is a lot of it, it's a very odd hard to tame hair type unfortunately.

I think if I ever did try GHDs again I'd go for the Eclipse considering all the claims it makes but it's a big investment at around 145.

^ :O 5 days.. if they were still made I'd need to try them.

we have almost opposite hair types :L mines thick and tends to be pretty non frizzy unless its raining or I brush it when it's natural. Then I end up looking electrocuted :L

I absolutely love my GHD's, I've had them now for about 8 years! I can tell they're getting old though as they take longer to heat up but I can say it's honestly the best investment on my parent's behalf for me haha! If they broke tomorrow (touch wood they dont...) I'd instantly go out and buy another pair, I have very naturally thick curly hair so it takes a lot to straighten but these have always done the job brilliantly (albeit with decent hair products)!

I don't actually know what brand my straighteners are ... but since I only use them about once or twice a year, I don't really care. Tbh I can get my hair pretty damn straight just by combing it out when it's wet and finger combing it through a few times as it dries. I've only noticed this ability fairly recently. I think it sort of pulls itself straight now it's getting long.
Left to dry overnight it goes nice and wavy though
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

    Both lobes 1/2", 5mm, 1.6mm
Left rook & 5mm helix punch
Right helix x2 & forward helix
    VCH, 5mm tongue

Hazel I have frizzy/curly/coarse hair and found GHD's really good for me but both my mum and I who has very fine hair have been using the Babyliss pro straighteners titanium plates for years now. They have the adjustable heat setting as well which is useful.

Anyone have any experience with L'oreal's steampod? My hairdresser used it on my hair, as it is more gentle than GHDs or traditional straighteners, and my hair was pretty damaged from using GHDs/not having it cut in over a year. I found it online for 120, and all the reviews are good... I'm considering it

EDIT - found a 15% off code so went for it

Has anyone ever had their hair chemically straightened/relaxed? I have a bit of a cowslick and now the weathers getting warmer my fringe doesnt seem to stay straight at all so ive been looking into it. I dont want it all done just my fringe if possible.
How long does it normally last? My friend had her whole head done in the Philippines last year as she had super frizzy hair and it still hasnt grown back, it looks really flat as well which is why i dont want it all done.

Have i gone mad? Im afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But i'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.

Haven't had it done myself, but my best friend has been getting her hair chemically straightened for years, she usually needs to re-do it every 6-7 months.
