Strange thing is the actual piercing seems healed otherwise. Just these flare ups. And it’s always the top helix the one just underneath has never been any bother.
They are a pain FudgeTort. I had a pair of Helix's done (one each side). I don't know how I have still got them as they have been to be honest - "Hell"! Long story short after two years (like Boo has mentioned it can take this long) one of them felt just as bad as a new piercing. I sleep on my back and it still was being hit somehow at the back. I had lumps front and back and hoodies caught it etc... I was thinking of retiring them. Then I asked my Piercer if she could put a plastic bio-flex/plast type of bar in the bad one. I left the bio-flex/plast in for a little while and then I put in a highly polished Opal bar and it has been lovely since. It has taken me over two years to work out that my Helix's hate Labret posts! My Conch is going the same way.

Mine hate bars as well. All three feel much better with hoops in.

They really are a pain and they take it in turns to act up!

You are really lucky with hoops FudgeTort. My Helix’s become very irritated by them lol.... Yes, my piercings still take turns to act up but, I would like to think I am getting somewhere now.

because for some reason I canít stop myself I got my third lobe done on my right side today. Meaning that I have now got third lobes on both sides (other side one is years old)

piercer said it is quite cartilage like there so it might take longer to heal. Why do I do this to myself?! I mean it looks awesome but still going to be a right bugger to heal isnít it!

Congratulations with your new piercing. I am going through it "again" with one of my third lobes. For some reason hurts so much and it looks fine. Yes, I can vouch that they take a while to heal. If this is anything I am still after more piercing's. And I know that they will be a right pain to heal - "again!"

No problem. Glad they are behaving at the moment. My third lobe is doing much better now. I think I would be the same with loads more if they didn't take so long to heal up too. lol....
