Im gunna be getting one when I move into a house in January, I've ran outta space in the apartment lol, have you joined the pygmy hogs forum? Best place for info on them.

Oooh nice one! Yup I joined up there :) Just seems to be so many differing opinions for housing...lots of people recommend the Zoozones but I'm really not keen! Got a thread going in Environmental Enrichment [username angelicfruitcake] with the ones I liked but not sure still. And I keep changing my mind on which colour I'd like! Aaargh....

Think I'll be going for a zoozone to prevent them from climbing the metal bars. By the time I get a hog I'll be in my house so I'll be a right snob and have it match the room lol

And on the top opening issue I have a guinea pig in a metal cage and always use the top opening not the side, much easier access!

Haha sounds good! I think its also that I'm thinking I may become obsessed with having the plastic sides perfectly clean and smudge free, seems much easier just having bars as long as they are protected round the bottom.

What colour are you getting?

Im not sure yet, I think it'll be any colour or sex just not albino, the red eyes kinda freak me out, I don't know why I have an albino frog and love him to bits, its just red eyed hedgehogs =/

Ahh yeah fair enough! I really like the ones with dark masks...saw one on a US site that I loved but apparently this is basically the breeder making up her own names rather than it being an actual colour...it's just a type of brown. Like on this site:

I think if I was given the choice I'd have a cinnamon, but I'd settle for any without red eyes. Now I've gotten my boyfriend over his "fear" of hogs he realised they're really cute babies and he wants one :biggrin:
