To be honest I think I would be gutted iff I had to have a c-section! My little cousin has just been born via c-section 2 days ago because when his mum's waters broke there was meconium in it. This made me read up on the affects of meconium in the waters and I think in most cases a c-section is unecessary, as long as the babies heart rate is fine then there is no reason that it can't be delivered naturally.
When I have my babies I would like to deliver them at home, with as little intervention as possible. I knew someone once who had a freebirth, everything went according to plan for her but I don't think I would be brave enough to do it myself.
I also don't believe in unecessary inductions just because a woman has gone 10 days overdue. As long as she recieves close monitoring in the lead up to the birth and the baby is in no signs of distess then I think the whole thing is just unecessary and causes more stress to both the mother and baby as the induction ddrugs are forcing the baby out before your body is ready. I can't think of one person I know that has had an induced delivery that has ended up delivering without any complications or intrumental interventions.
My new baby cousin's older sister was an induced birth and she was born after a 48 hour labour, I have known a few other examples of this happening to friends and family - most ended in c-section or ventouse/forceps deliveries. One even ended up with the baby having cerebal palsy and the mother having to have an emergency hysterectomy.
I am a great believer in home births, I think c-sections and inductions should be the last resort.
